Battle-Tested Wagtail: Running at Scale with Kubernetes
Deploying Wagtail shouldn’t be stressful. Yet too often, the path from local dev to production is fragile, manual, and hard to debug. This talk will show how to bring peace of mind into your pipeline using GitOps, Kubernetes, and tools like Argo CD to make deployments predictable, repeatable, and scalable.
We’ll ground this in a real-world case: the intranet of one of the nation’s largest community colleges, rebuilt on Wagtail and Kubernetes. With more than 28k visits per day and load tests simulating 5k concurrent users and 60k requests per minute, Wagtail proved it could handle enterprise traffic at scale.
You’ll learn how to:
- Build a GitOps-based CI/CD pipeline that works across all environments
- Automate rollouts, rollbacks, and infrastructure version control
- Ensure environment parity and confidence in every release
- Use Kubernetes to future-proof CMS workloads
- Deploy updates safely, consistently, and without manual headaches
Whether you’re coding or leading, you’ll leave with a clear, practical blueprint for shipping faster with fewer surprises.
