State of Wagtail

This year’s State of Wagtail takes stock of the project and the people behind it. We’ll look at Wagtail’s evolving role as both a CMS and an application framework, with better collaboration, deeper integrations, and new ways for developers and editors to get things done.

Wagtail 8.0’s new API makes that direction tangible: opening up content operations to scripts, external tools, and AI agents, while letting organizations autonomously decide what they are adopting. We’ll explore what this means for user autonomy, alongside our commitments to accessibility, sustainability, and security. We’ll also consider what it takes to sustain the open source community behind these ambitions.
