Wagtail Space USA
Announcing the first Wagtail event in North America
Wagtail is popular across the USA: universities, NGOs, government departments, tech giants, massive corporations, local sports groups, one-person-web-shops, huge digital agencies, lawyers, libraries, campaigners and bloggers are all building beautiful sites on it, contributing code to it, answering questions about it on Stack Overflow. So we're delighted to announce the first dedicated Wagtail event in the US, generously hosted by the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, who are themselves Wagtail users and long-time supporters.
Wagtail Space USA will take place on June 14th and 15th, at the Wharton School in Philadelphia. It will comprise talks, training and an optional sprint, which will continue on the 16th. The event will be free, although we invite corporate participants to make a small donation towards the travel expenses of non-funded core team members and those who would otherwise not be able to come for financial reasons.
Just as with previous Wagtail events held in South Africa, the UK, the Netherlands and Iceland, we want this to be an inclusive experience, relevant for expert developers, Python beginners, core team members, designers, writers, testers and anyone else who is curious about Wagtail. Even if you already have deep experience with Django and Wagtail, you should expect to dramatically increase your knowledge over the course of two days; if you're a complete beginner we hope you'll leave feeling confident with the tools and welcomed by the community.
If you're interested in coming, please sign up at us.wagtail.space. We'd love to see you there.
