How to use Wagtail AI: Part 1
Installing the package and how to identify user pain points
Welcome to Part One of my little video series on Wagtail AI!
In this video, I'll be going over our AI philosophy a little bit then walking you through how to install the Wagtail AI package. The installation itself is pretty straightforward — it's just like any other Django package — but I also want to walk you through something more important than the technical setup: the thought process behind deciding which parts of Wagtail AI to actually use in your project. Every Wagtail project is different, and what I find useful might not be what you need. So we'll go through that together. What you'll need to get the most use out of this is:
- A Wagtail project to add Wagtail AI too. Ideally this project already has some content published in it.
- The Wagtail AI documentation open in a tab
- An API key from your preferred AI provider and the name of the model you want to use.
By the end of this video, you'll have Wagtail AI installed and a clear framework for thinking about where it adds the most value in your own project. In the next video in the series, we'll get into the text features in more detail, so make sure you subscribe to our YouTube Channel so you don't want to miss it.
